Two for One: Dual Tuner/Decoders Impact Digital Satellite STB Market

SUMMARY

The digital DTH set top box market is the largest of all the digital set top box markets. Though these products have been around for ten years, manufacturers continue to add new features and produce them for less. Chinese manufacturers are entering the market and pushing prices lower. The FTA/CI segment has taken off in 2002 to equal the pay-TV provider segment.

The report contains five-year forecasts of unit shipments, ASPs, and revenues by region. Regional forecasts for DTH PVR boxes and DTH HD boxes are also provided.
