SUMMARY

Consumer electronics shipments increase every year, seemingly impervious to the vagaries of the world economy. The combination of both new, popular devices and consistently lower prices leads to increased consumer purchases. Currently driving the market are devices such as digital televisions, DVD recorders, and portable digital audio players (MP3). In the next few years, blue laser players and recorders are expected to have a significant impact.
