SUMMARY
The Indian company, Wockhardt Limited, was founded nearly four decades ago,
and today claims its place amongst the country's top research and technology
oriented pharmaceutical companies. This report provides an insight into the

Exchange, the National Stock Exchange and the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.
Around half of Wockhardt's sales are from Europe and the United States.
Wockhardt has a strong presence in the United Kingdom, which is the company's
second largest market behind India. Wockhardt has made a number of
acquisitions of UK companies over the last few years. Wockhardt has also made
recent acquisitions in Germany, and has created a sales and marketing force in
the US to bring focus to its US presence.
With regard to foreign markets, Wockhardt is in the process of transforming
itself from a predominantly bulk API producer to a finished formulations
producer. The company has filed a number of ANDAs in the United States, and
also filed Drug Master Files and European Certificates of Suitability.
However, Wockhardt is also developing a presence in the biogenerics market,
and was the first Asian company to launch its own recombinant insulin product,
Wosulin. Wockhardt has started exporting its biotechnology products to Eastern
Europe, and is building a biotech park which has been designed to cater to
global markets.
