"Hybrid has become the latest buzzword in the information security market, especially with messaging security. In the messaging security market, hybrid solutions combine the email hygiene benefits of an in-the-cloud hosted service with the granular policy enforcement, encryption, and data-loss prevention (DLP) capabilities of an on-premises software or appliance-based solution," said Brian Burke, program director for IDC's Security Products program. "IDC believes a hybrid security architecture provides a higher degree of security and addresses more security requirements compared with a single deployment model."
